To access the additional parking for Oak Park Active Living Centre when you drive through the gate and onto the original car parking head for the far side where you will see a link road that goes up past the astro turf and then at the top it opens out to approx 200 parking spaces. You can only access this by coming in to the leisure centre entrance although you can see it from the old car park adjacent to the KFC from the Lichfield Road as well. Once parked on this additional area you can quickly walk down on the pathway on the lefthand side and it will bring you directly to the main entrance of the centre.
Further parking on the old car park next to KFC off the Lichfield Road is also still available for anyone coming from that direction and again is just a short walk down to the centre. Alternatively you can use on street parking where applicable in the area.
Please note that since May 2018 the Leisure Centre has introduced new parking regulations and you must park within the appropriate marked parking spaces and not on double yellow lines or hatched/restricted areas as to do so you could receive a parking penalty notice. Parking in Disabled spots are for blue badge owners only. However car parking is free when parked correctly.

To see the report and pictures of the Walsall Wood Toy & Train Collectors 25th Anniversary Celebration on 6th March 2016 please go to the Toy Fair Section by clicking on the link at the top of this page.
Come and join us at our next Toy & Train Collectors Fair, Oak Park Leisure Centre, Lichfield Road, Walsall Wood when we will be celebrating our 25th Anniversary Year of Toy and Train Fairs at this popular venue. The Mayor of Walsall Councillor Angela Underhill and her consort will be in attendance at the 10.30am opening time of the event.
The Toy Fair has grown over the years since starting in the small sports hall in 1991 and subsquently moved to the larger hall. Our event has become one of the longest surviving Toy Fairs of its kind in the Midlands area. This has been due to the fantastic support of both our traders some of whom have been with us since its inception in 1991 and the many many collectors/visitors some of whom have also been coming for many years. Organisers Geoff and Linda Price thank you all for your support and welcome you along on this special occasion for us and hope you will continue attending our future events. Thanks also go to the Management and staff at Oak Park Leisure Centre for their help and assistance over the 25 years which has been much appreciated and has contributed in part to the success of the show.
Later this year we are hoping to move into the new Leisure Centre which is currently under construction on the site to the rear of the existing centre.
All our tables for this event on the 6th March are fully booked so there is going to be a great selection of collectable toy trains, cars, buses, aeroplanes, lego etc. alongside other collectible items at prices to suit everyone.
We have dealers looking to purchase any surplus toys whatever you may have so bring them along.
Geoff and Linda Price of Transtar Promotions have announced that they will be retiring from organising the Classic Car and Transport Shows from the end of this season.
Having been involved in the organisation of Classic Car events all over the country working at many Stately Homes and for Local Authorities along the way for 44 years, Geoff having reached retirement age has been advised to slow down due to a number of health problems over the last three years. We will still be continuing with the Toy and Train Collectors Fairs at Walsall Wood, so it won't be a complete end to our organising of events. We will be able to enjoy going and finding more models for our large model bus collection - possibly more holidays as well.
It will not however be an end to our events as we want the Classic Car and Transport Shows to continue as having all been started by ourselves several years ago they have become well established over those years and brought a lot of friendships for exhibitors.
As many people will know we have successfully been running events for far too many years to mention, from Yorkshire in the North to Kent in the South, doing 16 events in one year. Along the journey we have had many regular followers, some exhibitors have been with us for over 30 years - giving us valuable support and seeing the changes in the way events grow, and how the British weather has treated us. We have many memories and stories to tell - both highs and lows.
All the very best regards from Geoff and Linda Price - Long may what we started continue for many years to come.
